I lived at Birchwood park for 2 years. I gave it three stars because it wasn’t overall bad. The main thing that made it not so bad were the maintenance crew. They always responded to maintenance requests very quickly. Would do whatever was needed to fix the problem. And very nice always talked to me for a little bit if I was home. If I wasn’t home they wouldn’t leave a mess or anything either. The grounds were always well kept ( besides when it snowed, nothing was done preventative or at the time). The dumpsters are emptied regularly. The breezeways were always kept clean with routine cleaning. I was a very quiet resident never really had any issues with the office staff, paid rent on time, etc. the complex is overall pretty quiet. Cons: now I want to preface with I moved here from upstate NY and I have learned a lot about pests from living here for over 2 years now. Mainly have learned the difference between German cockroaches and palmetto bugs. When I first moved in I did not and the maintenance staff convinced me that have a few (what I now know) German cockroaches were normal. Over the span of 2 years of living there I dealt with both. And developed SEVERE anxiety because of it. I was scared to come home at night because I knew there would be one or both waiting for me. One summer I was killing a huge palmetto bug at least every other day. During that time I wasn’t seeing the German cockroaches. Then the following summer it was the German cockroaches. Towards the end of my stay if I was up past midnight I was killing 2 or 3 German cockroaches. Moved around my bedroom furniture one time. That night had a huge palmetto bug crawl on me in my bed. Couldn’t sleep for months after that. Towards the end of my time there I was killing A-LOT of baby roaches also. Confirmed with research that they nymph German cockroaches. Mainly in the kitchen and a lot in the bathroom. Also in the beginning of my stay there my apartment was being sprayed professionally every other week. Then almost a year in they switched office staff and they told me. They can only do a certain number of apartments and mine wasn’t the worse so then my apartment was no longer being sprayed. So I was spraying my own apartment every single week. I am a very clean person. I was cleaning every week. Never leaving dishes in sink. Taking trash out every other day. You would see all sizes at night outside too all over the staircases. I wouldn’t sit out on my balcony at night or even go out there. You would flick on the light and there were 3 or 4 always. The rent is too high in my opinion for what u get( outdated) and the bug problem. It really did go back and forth. I would have a couple weeks here and there without seeing anything. I really did my best to make it work but I just wanted to give my honest thoughts especially for any girls moving down here from up north cuz I 100% would not have lived there if I knew all of this.

Map of the complex included with the welcome packet. List of major FYI talking points from the property tour also included with the welcome packet just to refresh the tenant's memory on mail, packages, trash, parking, etc.

Your team is always great. Unfortunately, they cannot fix some things like inconsiderate people.But it has been quieter. Thank you for your help with this matter.

The best apartments I’ve lived at so far. The gentleman in the leasing office are always helpful, respectful and quick to assist. The maintenance team is god sent, they’ve always shown up in a quick timely manner and get things done! I especially want to recognize Billy in the leasing office and Gary in maintenance, both have helped my transition into this apartment go so smoothly and continue to help whenever I need it!
